Adult Literacy Achievement Event

The Department of Youth and Community Development recently awarded twelve Riverside students at their Adult Literacy Achievement Event. Their writings were selected from stories and poems submitted by students from all DYCD-funded programs. One standout was Mariia Dushelko, a Level 4 student chosen as the event's student speaker. Mariia, dressed in green in the picture above, shared her moving story, "The Feelings New York City Evokes." Later, taking advantage of the open mic, three more Riverside students confidently recited their works. This event was an inspiring platform for Riverside students to showcase their wonderful writing and presentation skills.
