Alumni Spotlight: Lamine D.

We are proud to share an update on Riverside alum Lamine D., whose perseverance and achievements inspire us all.

Since completing his studies at Riverside, Lamine has made great progress and has continued advancing his career goals. Last week, he sat for his CNA licensing exam, adding to his credential as a certified Home Health Aide. To support himself along the way, he has worked tirelessly—including making Seamless deliveries late into the night—while never losing sight of his dreams.

Lamine’s journey has not been easy. He has faced a number of setbacks, but his determination, resilience, and optimistic outlook have carried him forward. He speaks with deep passion about overcoming obstacles and is eager to “give back” to Riverside by sharing his story with current participants. We hope to invite him to speak with classes soon—his voice is truly an inspiration.

As Lamine continues pursuing his professional path, he also faces the uncertainty of his asylum case, which has been postponed until November. Despite these challenges, his commitment to building a better future remains unshaken.

We are proud of Lamine’s achievements and grateful to count him among the Riverside community. His story reminds us of the strength and courage our alums bring to every step of their journey.
