“My People” by Langston Hughes

Kate's Level 3 class learned the words to Langston Hughes's poem, My Peoplewhich celebrates the beauty,  strength, and dignity of African Americans, as part of this week's classwork.

My People

The night is beautiful,
So the faces of my people.

The stars are beautiful,
So the eyes of my people.

Beautiful, also, is the sun.
Beautiful, also, are the souls of my people.
