Kate's Level 3 class learned the words to Langston Hughes's poem, My People, which celebrates the beauty, strength, and dignity of African Americans, as part of this week's classwork.
The night is beautiful,
So the faces of my people.
The stars are beautiful,
So the eyes of my people.
Beautiful, also, is the sun.
Beautiful, also, are the souls of my people.
