George Dimitropoulos & George Koulis
Both my great-grandfathers came to America as immigrants by themselves, from Greece under the Ottoman empire before World War I.
George Dimitropoulos worked for many years as a logger in Wyoming and Montana and was a logging company cook, baking fresh bread every day for the loggers in the field.
George Koulis worked for many years as a glass blower in the famous glass factories in Corning, NY He told his family it was a hard and dangerous job, with many industrial accidents.
They both worked for many years and went back to have large families. I continued the family tradition by coming to America by myself as an immigrant in the 1960s.
