Visit the Library

By Rod Granger

A library card can open the door to a wealth of information, as Level 2 and 3 students recently learned through a visit to Riverside from Benjamin Sapadin, Supervising Librarian at Manhattan’s Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library, the largest circulating (lending) library in The New York Public Library system.

Ben introduced the students to the many available free resources, including access to computers, study areas, and a variety of classes. They can also use their cards to access the Culture Pass for free entry to museums and cultural sites across the city, borrow ebooks and audiobooks, read international newspapers, and use language-learning and job tools. The library can also help Riverside students learn about their new city, understand their rights and responsibilities, and participate in civic life. And did we mention that it’s all free?
